Sikh scholar to present on poetics and healing

Dr. Nikky G. Kaur Singh

Dr. Nikky G. Kaur Singh, chair of religious studies at Colby College will present a lecture “Sikh Poetics and Healing” at 12 p.m. March 25 at Speech Arts 163 and on Zoom. The talk will examine the truth, beauty, and perennial joy voiced in the Japuji, the opening poem of Sikh sacred text. 

Dr. Nikky has published extensively in the field of Sikh Studies. Her books include poems from the Guru Granth Sahib (Harvard University Press, 2022), The First Sikh: Life and Legacy of Guru Nanak (Penguin, 2019) among others. Additionally, she has authored over 100 articles.
