Faculty member’s art exhibit — ‘Una Novela de un Amor Eterno’

Art exhibition by Diego Gutierrez Monterrubio

Artwork by Diego Gutierrez Monterrubio, a member of the Department of Art and Design faculty, will be on display from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 26, at the Consulate of Mexico in Fresno, 7435 N. Ingram Ave.

Monterrubio writes in his artist’s statement for the exhibition, titled “Una Novela de un Amor Eterno”:

Una Novela de un Amor Eterno is series of large-scale paintings and internal writings that I created from a real-life love story of star-crossed lovers. With the influence of a traditional Mexican novela, a touch of prominent American pop artist Roy Lichtenstein and my passion for painting and writing, I created a visual narrative series of paintings of my own personal love story.

The event is open to the public.
