“Armenians and Turks: Challenges and New Paths Forward towards Reconciliation” will be the topic of a panel discussion at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 3, in the University Business Center, Alice Peters Auditorium, Room 191, on the Fresno State campus. The event is part of the Fall Lecture Series of the Armenian Studies Program.
The Center for Creativity and the Arts 2017-18 theme will be “Voice and Silence: Expressions of the Human Spirit and Community.”
“’Voice and Silence’ will look at the various ways in which we communicate our ideas, points of views and concerns regarding current events,” said Cindy Urrutia, coordinator of the center.
“Armenians, Greeks, and Kurds: A People’s History of the Ottoman Empire” will be the topic of a major conference organized by the Armenian Studies Program at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept 22, and at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 23. There will be a reception from 6:30-7:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 22, immediately preceding the first night’s session. The conference will feature eight scholars from through the United States and Turkey.
