El Nuevo Huevo Book Hatching: Juan Felipe Herrera and Anthony Cody

The poets Juan Felipe Herrera and Anthony Cody present “El Nuevo Huevo Book Hatching” at 5:30 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 26. Admission is $10 and advanced registration is required.

The book hatching will be a virtual gathering to launch the recent publication of their new poetry collections, “Every Day We Get More Illegal” and “Borderland Apocrypha.” The reading will feature both authors, along with recent fellows from Fresno State’s Laureate Lab Visual Wordist Studio.

This event is in partnership with the Fresno State Creative Writing Alumni Chapter and the students of Chicanx Writers and Artists Association. The event kicks off celebrations honoring La CWAA, making its 30th anniversary on campus.

All proceeds gathered by the alumni chapter will benefit the Mireyda Barraza Martinez social justice writing fund award, on behalf of CWAA. Student admission waivers are available – contact CWAA for more info.
