The German Studies Association announced that the book “Hitler’s American Friends: The Third Reich’s Supporters in the United States” by Fresno State associate professor Dr. Bradley Hart has was awarded the Sybil Halpern Milton Memorial Book Prize.
The prize, which is awarded in odd-numbered years, honors the best book dealing with Nazi Germany and the Holocaust during the previous two year period. The association says they consider books from all languages and countries on a wide variety of topics to find their winners.
“Receiving this prize is a great honor. Sybil Halpern Milton was a great scholar and an inspiration to many, and to receive this award bearing her name is truly humbling,” said Hart.
Hart is currently an International Affairs Fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations in Washington, D.C., while teaching online courses at Fresno State.
Well deserved. I had the pleasure of watching and supporting Dr. Hart’s scholarship. His work is a superb example of the importance of meticulous historical journalism in understanding human accomplishments and travesties. His unique skills and gift of language is found in every one of his books and I might add his classrooms.
