Pianist Jonathan Biss to perform at Fresno State

American pianist Jonathan Biss will perform as part of the Philip Lorenz International Keyboard Concert series at 7:30 p.m., Oct. 11, at the Concert Hall (Music Building, Room 126). Tickets are $25 general, $18 senior, and $5 for students. Parking is free after 4 p.m. on Fridays in lot P1.

Biss is noted for his artistic maturity and versatility, prodigious technique, and diverse repertoire ranging from Mozart and Beethoven to contemporary composers such as György Kurtág and Leon Kirchner. At Fresno State, he will perform Beethoven’s Sonata in E Minor, Op.90; Sonata in A Major, Op.101 and Sonata in B-flat Major, Op.106 “Hammerklavier.”

After completing his concert in Fresno, Biss will continue his North American tour before ending his season with two concerts in the United Kingdom.
