Knights and Daughters of Vartan recognize Prof. Barlow Der Mugrdechian as ‘Man of the Year’ and Stefani Booroojian as ‘Woman of the Year’

The Knights and Daughters of Vartan have named Prof. Barlow Der Mugrdechian and news anchor Stefani Booroojian “Man of the Year” and “Woman of the Year.” The two were honored at a special Banquet held on Sunday, March 30, 2019.

Der Mugrdechian has been teaching at Fresno State for thirty-four years and has been the Director of the Program since 2008. He teaches a variety of Armenian Studies courses. He has served as President of the Society for Armenian Studies and has led student study trips to Armenia.

Stefani Booroojian is a Fresno native, Fresno State alumna and one of the most recognizable names in KSEE 24 News history. She has been on KSEE24 for 27 years and at the anchor desk since 1984. During that time, she has reported on many changes and events in the Central Valley.

She has recently made multiple trips to Armenia to report on the country and on projects that have ties to the Valley.
