CineCulture present "Our Little Sister" Feb. 9

CineCulture will present “Our Little Sister” at 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 9, in the Peters Education Center Auditorium at the Student Recreation Center (5010 N. Woodrow Ave.). Dr. Ed EmanuEl will lead the post-screening discussion.

Directed by famed Japanese Director Hirokazu Kore-eda,”Our Little Sister” is based on and adapted from the “Umimachi Diary,” a popular “manga” or comic strip series in Japan.

The film tells the life stories of three sisters in their twenties who live together in the ancient city of Kamakura, a town about 30 miles southwest of Japan’s capital Tokyo.  While attending their estranged father’s funeral they discover a 14-year-old half-sister who joins them in Kamakura.

“Our Little Sister” is two hours and eight minutes, in Japanese with English subtitles, and is rated PG (trailer).
