Coro Solare chorus in concert

~ By Celeste DeMonte, publicity, Fresno Community Chorus

The Fresno Community Chorussponsored Coro Solare will perform “Choral Classics: Music of Haydn, Martini, and Fauré” at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 5, at the College Community Church Mennonite Brethren.

The concert is free and open to the public.

Coro Solare will perform Martini’s “Domine, ad adjuvandum me festina,” portions of Haydn’s “Little Organ Mass,” and Fauré’s “Cantique de Jean Racine” directed by Anna Hamre and with a professional string ensemble.

Featured soloist for this concert is Coro Solare member Dolores Jones, mezzo-soprano, a vocalist with Central Valley Chorale in addition to Coro Solare.

Coro Solare, Fresno’s new daytime classical choir, continues to grow and now numbers over 70 singers in just its second season. Members come from as far away as Auberry, Coalinga, Coarsegold and Three Rivers.

Formed for, but not limited to, adult singers, Coro Solare provides the opportunity to join others to sing fine choral works, make new friends and perform great choral music in concert with professional instrumentalists.

INFO: Dr. Anna Hamre, Fresno State music professor and chorus director, at ahamre@csufresno.edu or 559.278.2539, or see the Fresno Community Chorus website.
