Another good showing for the Barking Bulldogs in Las Vegas

Last weekend, Oct. 21-23, the Barking Bulldogs Debate Team participated in the Las Vegas Classic Debate Tournament at UNLV, a prestigious national tournament with 77 highly competitive teams participating.

From left, Hunter Sansom and Primavera Leal MartinezFresno State debaters Primavera Leal Martinez and Hunter Sansom broke into the elimination rounds of the UNLV tournament by defeating University of Iowa, Arizona State University, United State Military Academy (West Point) and University of Houston.

Martinez and Sansom lost to the University of California at Berkeley in the octo-final round.

Director of Debate Tom Boroujeni gave special thanks to Quinten Levin for his invaluable help as the assistant coach.

“We are very proud of our debaters for this incredible achievement,” Boroujeni said. “I would like to thank the Department of Communication, College of Arts and Humanities and ASI for their continued support.”
