Fresno State Focus April 26: Lahvosh Bakery, baseball and building tomorrow’s leaders

Baseball fan Richard Halleck

This week on Fresno State Focus, a public affairs program produced by students in the Department of Media, Communication and Journalism, anchor Jerry Gomez of Hanford meets with Leena Mendoza, one woman who is making a difference by building tomorrow’s leaders. Mendoza, an adjunct professor at Fresno City College, recently spoke at a Stand Together as One workshop hosted by the Educational Opportunity Program.

Anchor Mary Kate Paquette of Bakersfield talks with Richard Halleck, whose love for baseball is a way of life.

Reporter Courtney Rodgers of Clovis explores Valley Lahvosh Bakery and its ties to another part of the world. And Edmer Archila of Mendota goes behind the scenes of Fresno State Focus, the reflections of people that make the show possible.

The show airs at 4 p.m. Wednesdays during the semester on Comcast Channel 94 and AT&T U-Verse Channel 99. It also streams live on CMAC TV Education Channel and on the Fresno State Focus TV YouTube channel. This episode will be rebroadcast at 6 and 8 p.m. Monday, May 1. INFO: Faith Sidlow, assistant professor of media, communications and journalism, at 559.278.4868 or Fresno State Focus Facebook.
