Fresno State Choirs will present a concert, titled “Music of the Americas” at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, March 19, in the Concert Hall.

“It is fun music that everyone can connect to in some way,” said Dr. Cari Earnhart, director of choral activities for Fresno State. “It is representative of the diverse fabric of our nation and our neighbors in Mexico and Latin America. You will hear spirituals, American folk music, an Argentinian love song, a macumba from Brazil, a cowboy song from Venezuela and many more.”

Program highlights will feature songs from North and South America. Composers include  Fissinger, Copland, Erb, Hogan, Hella Johnson, Estévez, Villa-Lobos and Escalada.

The Fresno State Chamber Singers and Fresno State Concert Choir will perform, with special guests, the Fresno State Mariachi group.

Tickets are $15 for general admission, $12 for employees and seniors and $6 for students.
