Zakarian appointed as Haig and Isabel Berberian Professor of Armenian Studies

The Armenian Studies Program at Fresno State announced that Dr. David Zakarian has been appointed the Haig and Isabel Berberian Professor of Armenian Studies for the fall 2024 semester. Dr. Zakarian was previously an associate faculty member of the Faculty of Asian and Middle Eastern Studies at the University of Oxford.

Travel, scholarship, community inspire Dr. La Porta in his Interim Associate Dean role

In his new role as Interim Dean of the College of Arts and Humanities, La Porta, inspired by his love of travel, plans to expand study abroad opportunities for students which he considers essential to broadening their horizons. In addition, he would like to facilitate faculty-student mentorships and promote more service-learning courses.
