Nika Babayan, will present a lecture entitled “Awards of Armenia and the Armenian Church” at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 19 in the University Business Center, Alice Peters Auditorium, Room 191. The free, public presentation is part of the Fall Lecture Series of the Armenian Studies Program.
Author and translator Christopher Atamian will present a lecture entitled “Fifty Years of Armenian Literature in France: A Zenith of Diasporan Writing” at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 8, in the University Business Center, Alice Peters Auditorium, Room 191 on the Fresno State campus.
“Fifty Years of Armenian Literature in France” was published as Volume 6 in the Armenian Series of The Press at California State University, Fresno in 2016. This is the first presentation in the Armenian Studies Program 2017 Fall Lecture series, which is supported by the Leon S. Peters Foundation.
Watch out for hot books! The Press at California State University, Fresno has published as many new volumes in the past year as it usually does in three and a half years.
Since last fall, The Press — a university press operated by the College of Arts and Humanities at Fresno State — has published six new books. Founded in 1982, The Press has published 56 volumes — in its history, an average of 1.7 per year.
