“Celebrating 30 Years of Clarinet” will celebrate the three decades of clarinet at Fresno State by showcasing one of the most prominent clarinet performer-teachers today – Mark Nuccio, principal clarinet of the Houston Symphony Orchestra and former New York Philharmonic acting principal clarinet, interim principal clarinet, associate principal clarinet and Eb clarinetist for 17 years.
This week’s Fresno State Focus, a public affairs program produced by media, communication and journalism students that airs at 6 p.m. on Wednesdays during the semester, presents its first fall edition Oct. 11 with anchors Elisa Navarro-Aceves of Tulare and Matthew Roby of Manchester, England, talking to Ahson Haider of the Associated Students Inc. about Homecoming.
The International Cello Festival will take place from Oct. 5 through 8 on the Fresno State Campus, taking the final gala concert into the community at the Paul Shaghoian Concert Hall. The festival focuses on talent from the Central Valley taking part in three days of intense master classes, cello ensemble rehearsals, two concerts and more.
