The Department of Music is proud to present Dr. Beatriz Ilari as part of this year’s Global Music Lecture Series. Dr. Ilari is Assistant Professor of Music Education at USC’s Thornton School of Music.
Fresno State will partner with Fresno City College for High School Journalism Day from 9-1 p.m. Friday, March 9, to present a variety of workshops concerning journalism. The event will be held at Fresno City in the Old Administration Building (the building numbered 2 on the parking map).
Dr. Yektan Türkyılmaz, Kazan Visiting Professor of Armenian Studies at Fresno State, will give a lecture, “Armenians on Records: Music Production from Homeland to Diasporas,” at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 7, in the University Business Center, Alice Peters Auditorium, Room 191 on the Fresno State campus.
The Fresno State Women’s Studies Program is celebrating National Women’s History Month with a lecture series that includes two Arts and Humanities professors.
Dr. Nancy Van Leuven, Media, Communications and Journalism, on Tuesday, March 6, and Dr. María Dolores Morillo, Modern and Classical Languages and Literatures, on Thursday, March 22. Each lecture will be located in the Henry Madden Library Room 3212 from 12:30 to 2 p.m.
Ara Sarafian, director of the London-based Gomidas Institute, will present a lecture entitled “Van 1915: The Great Events of Vasbouragan” at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 23, in the University Business Center, Alice Peters Auditorium, Room 191. The presentation is part of the Spring Lecture Series of the Armenian Studies Program.

A discussion about “Me Too Moment: Sexual Harassment and Professional Life” will be the first event in the spring 2018 lineup of the Leon S. Peters Ethics Lecture Series, from 6-7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 13, in the Alice Peters Auditorium, University Business Center.

The presentation is the second in the Spring Lecture Series of the Armenian Studies Program. The Leon S. Peters Foundation is a co-sponsor of the event.
